What is Perma Ballast®?

Perma Ballast®, our pumpable, removable, environmentally safe fixed ballast is the most widely used and accepted solid ballast in the world. 

Perma Ballast® is recognized and accepted by certifying and regulatory agencies around the world, including ABS, Bureau Veritas, U.S. DOT, U.S. Coast Guard, Lloyd's Register, DNV-GL. 

All Perma Ballast® products, including the water used to convey them, are lead-free, non-toxic, non-corrosive, chemically inert, and environmentally safe. No gases or vapors are generated by Perma Ballast® products, even after many years in place.

BTI pre-tests all of its raw materials in its own laboratories to ensure proper density, uniformity and stability. Continuous quality control is also performed during every installation to verify installed density.

By customizing our mix design for every installation we are able to achieve a wide range of installed Perma Ballast® product densities, from 130 lbs to 300 lbs/cubic foot, or 2.1-4.8 SG.

The product is generally removable and reusable.
